JULY KICK-OFF! CHAMBER SUMMER EVENT SCHEDULE
Fraser Picnic in the Park (every Tuesday from June 30 – Aug. 11): Free live music at Old Schoolhouse Park in Fraser wafts through the valley each Tuesday from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. This free music series kicks off with as Osborne & Key. Other Tuesday night musicians include the Mike and Amy Finders Band, Claddagh, Colorado Highlanders Bag Pipes, Dakota Blonde, Hunker Down, 3rd Time Lucky and Yaniv & Friends.
High Note Thursdays (every Thursday from July 2 – August 20): Kicking off weekend music events in Winter Park on Thursdays from 6 – 8 p.m., High Note Thursdays brings a mix of salsa, country, bluegrass and acoustic styles of music to Hideaway Park. The first High-Note Thursday starts off with the spicy flair of Quemando Band, an 11 piece salsa band from Denver. Other featured Thursday night music acts included The Cedar Ridge Ramblers,Jennifer Lane, Tempa & The Tantrums, Slopeside, Hunker Down, Aurora Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet and Kort McCumber & McCumberland Gap. FREE Taxi Thursday's! Enjoy your wine and get a complimentary ride home courtesy of Valley Taxi.
July 4: Rendezvous Run for Independence: This annual event is a 5-mile run/walk on the Fraser River Trail that starts at the Winter Park Resort and finishes at the Ski Broker in Fraser. Early registration is at 7:30 a.m. at the base of the ski area, and the race starts at 9 a.m. After the race, celebrate friends, family and fellow runners, and stick around for the awards ceremony and giveaway in the parking lot of the Ski Broker. There will be a shuttle that will bring participants from Fraser back to the Winter Park Resort. The Fraser River Valley Lions Club will have a pancake breakfast offered at the finish line also. The event is a fundraiser for the Scott Hughes Foundation and the Children’s Hospital. Sign up online at www.playwinterpark.com or at the Visitor Center.
The Lance Gutersohn RE/MAX Peak to Peak Fourth of July Celebration: A free community event that draws over 4,000 Grand County residents and guests throughout the course of the day. The event has many facets that appeal to all ages. From late afternoon until evening, the Fraser Sports Complex bustles with family fun, including sporting games, kid’s activities, a community picnic and live music by The Informants. There will be lots of free carnival games, face painting, clowns, and much, much more! At sundown, a spectacular fireworks display is the perfect finale to the festivities. FREE!
Welcome Back to Winter Park Weeekend featuring the Winter ParkMusic Festival on July 11: Hideaway Park, Free admission with an admittance ticket (check www.WelcomeBacktoWP.com for tickets).
